Watch the community forest film Featured

There's a change in BC's forests and forest communities... a change that's good for the forests, good for the people who live and work there and good for the buyers and users of wood.

And you can see this change for yourself, in our film about Community Forests produced by David Springbett from Asterisk Productions (great job David!).

The BCCFA is pleased to introduce our new film highlighting the unique characteristics of the Community Forest Agreement in BC. The film includes a 12 minute introduction plus profiles of six different community forests. The six profiles show the ways in which community forests:

  • Empower people living in forest communities to manage local forests in a way that reflects local values
  • Facilitate investment in community priorities
  • Give local people a meaningful role in decision making and resource planning
  • Enhance the economic sustainability and stability of rural communities, by linking forest resources to those communities.

DVDs of the Community Forests film can be purchased for $10.00 including shipping. To order click here.
