Social Media Community Guidelines and Protocol
The BC Community Forest Association (BCCFA) uses social media to share information about community forestry, initiatives, and partner activities, while also encouraging engaging conversation and comments. To ensure the platforms remain welcoming, informative, and aligned with the BCCFA’s mission, the following guidelines apply to all BCCFA social media channels.
Comment Policy
Diverse perspectives expressed in a professional manner are encouraged. Welcomed participation is:

Respectful and courteous.

Relevant to community forestry or the content shared.

Constructive and solution oriented.

Based on verifiable information.
The BCCFA will hide or remove comments that include:

Abusive or harassing content, including but not limited to personal attacks, threats, hate speech or discriminatory language.

Defamation or knowingly false information presented as fact.

Comments that are off topic, unrelated to the BCCFA or forestry, repetitive (spam), or promotional content.

Political messaging, endorsements, election promotion, etc.

Confidential or sensitive information.

Illegal or harmful content (ie. Explicitly or inappropriate material, including sexual comments or links to sexual material).
Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines will be blocked and removed from BCCFA platforms.
